We have licensed our Stoptix automatic brake light technology for off-road ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles (launched at SEMA). We have also licensed our tech to be in a boat brake light. We are looking for a licensee in heavy truck lighting.
Wow, we were more busy at the Marshall Space Flight Center Safety Day today than at any trade show we have ever attended (AIMExpo, Interbike). The bicycle light was a big hit. We had a drawing for 10 bicycle rear lights. Thanks NASA.
We are happy to be a development partner with J.W. Speaker on the Trail 6 Flash product that includes our Stoptix automatic brake light technology. The product made its debut at the SEMA Show. The compact Trail 6 is the premier off-road light for UTVs, ATVs, and snowmobiles. It provides added safety and control to users with 3 different versions; the Trail 6 Pro with Bluetooth connectivity the Trail 6 Flash that senses deceleration and flashes as a warning to other drivers, and the Trail 6 Sport with class-leading light performance.
Our founder and CEO, Jeff Hammock, was invited to pitch to the judges on the Alabama Upstarts TV show. The format is similar to Shark Tank. Two pilot episodes aired statewide on ABC the last two weekends in August. MechOptix is still negotiating deal terms with two of the judges. Stay tuned for an update. We have a stock offering now for those interested in investing.

Dorothy S. Davidson Invention to Innovation Center (I2C) at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is mentoring MechOptix under their Virtual Incubation program. Rigved Joshi, I2C Director, has some great ideas on how to get MechOptix to the next level. It is great to get help from our founder Jeff Hammock's alma mater (B.S. Optics 1997)!
MechOptix is a featured alumni of the Alabama Launchpad Startup Competition, a program of the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama (EDPA), at the #imerge2018 event today in Birmingham. We won $50,000 in December 2015 and that funded production of our first product, the Stoptix automatic brake lamp. We now have 1 patent issued, 3 patents pending, 1 patent in draft, 2 licensing deals, 2 products for sale now, and several products in various stages of development that include connectivity.
Joe and I will be at the event today to demonstrate products, discuss the terms of our current capital raise, go over what is next in the product line-up, and provide details on our domestic and international opportunities for sales.
The event is held on the campus of the EDPA. The campus and surrounding areas will be transformed for a special night with streets blocked off as EDPA hosts amazing food vendors, drinks and more!
You'll also witness the Alabama Innovation Awards and the unique Pitch Competition where six startups will compete for a total of $150k in startup funding.
Our Stoptix automatic brake light technology has been licensed by two different companies for two markets -- off-road powersports, and recreational and fishing boats. Stay tuned for product launch information in Spring 2018. Heavy Truck is next!
We moved to our new location in mid-January. It is great to share the building with JIT Services who does warehousing and order fulfillment with approximately 80% of their customers being automotive suppliers. Our conference room is the room upstairs with the large window on the right side. Our signage will go up soon.

Check out the article on our Stoptix automatic brake light in the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Magazine Feb-March 2018 issue. We met these guys at the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Festival in 2016. They were instant fans of our product.
We are entering the heavy duty truck market with our Stoptix Automatic Brake Light Technology. Our first targets are:
1. Petroleum and Chemical Tanker Trucks
2. School Buses
3. Garbage Trucks
We are not limited to the HD vehicles listed above. We just have the best use case for these three.
